Turning a historical building into a fashion show venue isn't an everyday routine here in Singapore. We had one in an old prison (that's a great start, really!), literally on Orchard Road in our shopping district, and now the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. I've driven pass the station a couple of weeks back after it has ceased its operations and pending a new development, boy, it sure looked like a haunted house to be. But two of the top magazines in Singapore, Female and NUYOU, turned it into a powerhouse overnight for their annual catwalk show. And I've got photos to prove and you've got to agree with me that the use of projectors onto its façade is a genius idea.
Okay now, here's something for a change: There were two rows right in front of the photographer's pit specially for bloggers. These were the best seats in da house. I must say, such a gesture from the organisers says a lot about their appreciation for us, bloggers and finally we have front row seating!
For the first time, Valentino's diffusion line REDValentino presented looks from their Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Florals and embroidery were the key trends of the soft and feminine collection with a touch of sequins and ruffles in the evening looks. Bags and accessories were perfect for the summer, especially the ratten wedges and pastel-coloured totes. My favourite look? The white woven tube dress. I just can't get enough of its texture.
What's next for Female x NUYOU Catwalk 2013? I'm rooting for the Helix Bridge or maybe the Henderson Waves?
